Okay so today's little blog is actually NOT all about stitching, or really even my current WIP as I'm sure you can tell by the title. Let me start this out by explaining a few things.  About a month or so ago Thomas and I went to Kenny's apartment for dinner.  Kenny is one of Thomas's old West Point roommates, a good friend, and one of his classmates at this Captain's Career Course. He lives in the same apartment complex as we do, just a few buildings over.  We periodically switch around who hosts dinner, usually on the weekends, since Kenny lives by himself but still likes to cook and it's frustrating to cook for only one person. I like to cook as well and we both like to cook for other people so....thus the current arrangement. Well Kenny made homemade pasta that night for dinner and it was AMAZING! Seriously, like WAAAAY better than store bought pasta. He showed me his wonderful metal pasta machine that he had picked up at Ross (or some place like that) y...

Okay so I really need to get better at blogging on time. So - for WIPocalypse the question is: "Who is your favorite person to stitch for, or do you prefer to keep your stitching yourself?" I don't really have a favorite person to stitch for, I stitch a lot of gifts though, mostly for family. I do have a few projects that I'm going to make for myself though - Teresa's R&J and my Orchid/Butterfly ones I'm going to keep. There area few others that I might keep as well. Overall though most of the items I stitch I end up stitching with other people in mind. Progress as of Sunday IHSW: It was a lot of fun. Finally got to hang with all my wonderful ladies at one time.  I made some progress on my stocking for Miss Emma (about 173 stitches on Sat and 174 on Sunday). So.....I've been really bad about actually doing updates. >.> So you get this month's update all in one giant post. So be warned, it's long and there are pictures everywhere! First off let me start by saying I didn't get much stitching done this month. Aug 5th was my birthday and I got a 3DS XL and Pokemon X from my husband so.....that pretty much ate up my entire stitching time because....well....pokemon!!!! I honestly haven't really played a pokemon game since Pokemon Red or Blue (whichever one it is that my little brother had) and I briefly picked up his pokemon Gold game but they were never MY games so I couldn't have my own file on it (stupid only 1 save file for pokemon!)  and I never actually beat the games.  This one is mine....ALL MINE!!! *insert evil laugh here* Ahhhemm....anywhos, thank you hunny for my wonderful pokemon game and DS system. Well it's the first of the next month and that means update of last month. ^_^ This past month has been busy but fun.  Joe and his cat, Star, came for a visit, we went to the Field Artillery museum on post, and I had to frog my Santa part of the pattern twice -__- Thomas and I had our 3rd anniversary on the 30th.  Wasn't all that elaborate because he had to go on a field trip to a battle site 4 hrs away and wasn't sure when he was going to be home. It was nice to just relax at home though and we're going to Six Flags in Dallas this weekend to hang with some friends so that's going to be a lot of fun. ^_^ So, onto the pictures from this past weekend and my progress for the month. Well I figured I would just wait to do my IHSW post when it got closer towards the end of the month so I could also do my SFS post at the same time. I spent about $3 this month on 2 different packages of beads at Hobby Lobby. I'm still not 100% sure which of the bead types I'll use but I figured I can figure that out when I get to it. I got a packet of Mill Hill petite glass beads - 40161 and Mill Hill glass seed beads - 00479.  The blue ones are seed beads that I had already in my stash.  The petite beads are the ones I was thinking of getting simply because they are iridescent and shiny but the seed beads are the same size and the white is still shiny. When I asked Thomas, he said to go with the seed beads but I figured I'd ask my gals too.  So what do you think?  Petite or seed?  Not the best pictures since it was hard for me to get a good picture and show the difference between the two. Well I think I'm just going to have to come to terms with the fact that I am horrible about doing these blogs on time. :) Question for this month: It's halfway to Christmas.  Do you start your holdiay stitching this early?  If so, what do you hope to accomplish this year? Yes, and no.  Normally I don't if only because I never think about it and I'm HORRIBLE with deadlines and never seem to get the projects done by Christmas. When that happens, I end up just giving the WIP to show the project and let the recipient (normally a family member) know that this is what I'm working on and will be given to them when done. It's what I did last year with Joseph's Dragon Wall Hanging. This year however, I'm working on a stocking for Emma and I hope to get a few ornaments done as gifts for various people but I'm not sure if that will happen so I'm not going to stress about it. 7-17 progress My goal for the stocking is to have the stitching done by...

First off let me say that I got practically no stitching done over the holiday weekend and I'm okay with that. ^_^ 7-4 work - Red bow and start of blue present Got to spend Friday and Sat with the in-laws and Sunday with my family.  Jason and Sarah brought Emma for the family get together so I was supper excited to finally get to see and hold her.  She was sleeping when they arrived and I got to hold her. She's a cuddle bug! She was completely content to sleep on my chest all curled up.
