So......I managed to stick to my budget this month. JoAnn's had a 3 for $.99 sale on DMC floss a few weeks ago, and I needed to pick up some colors for one of my next projects so I took advantage of the sale. I also picked up a magazine and I had a 20% off coupon as well.


$9.24 for 28 skeins
$14.00 for the magazine

 Floss on the left is what I bought. Right pile is what I already had in my stash. Still need to bobinate them which is why there is a pack of plastic bobbins. So I now have all the floss colors I need for "Project Princess" and I just need to get the beads. Those will probably be purchased next month though.

There are a several  Joan Elliot designs in this and I LOVE JE! There are a lot of other cute designs too so I just had to pick this one up. 

Already have a few plans for some of these, I just have to make room in my project list for them.




 


So....what did I work on? Well I worked on some of the weather tags for the calendar I'm making for Mom.  I also got my Mom's sewing machine last time I was home along with some cross-stitching supplies she came across from when she cross-stitched, when she was cleaning out the garage. I'll take and post pictures later next week.




Got good news at work. Friday was my last day as a temp. Starting Monday, I'm a full time employee who is now eligible to earn vacation time, sick days, holiday pay, and other benefits.  Also got a bit of a pay raise. :)

Well, it's a short post this time but there wasn't a lot going on this month.

    I love that you were able to hit that sale! I've thought about picking up the Ultimate but it might be another magazine that gathers dust like the ones I have now :(

Okay so today's little blog is actually NOT all about stitching, or really even my current WIP as I'm sure you can tell by the title. Let me start this out by explaining a few things.  About a month or so ago Thomas and I went to Kenny's apartment for dinner.  Kenny is one of Thomas's old West Point roommates, a good friend, and one of his classmates at this Captain's Career Course. He lives in the same apartment complex as we do, just a few buildings over.  We periodically switch around who hosts dinner, usually on the weekends, since Kenny lives by himself but still likes to cook and it's frustrating to cook for only one person. I like to cook as well and we both like to cook for other people so....thus the current arrangement. Well Kenny made homemade pasta that night for dinner and it was AMAZING! WIPocalypse 2014 - January

So....I'm a little late in this post as it's not Jan 16th but....I kinda forgot about it.  Oh well, better late than never right? ^_^ So the topic for this month is to introduce ourselves, my projects, and my goals for the year so here it goes! Hi!! My name is Krystal.  I'm 27, live in Texas and am married to the best guy in the world! Okay...I'm slightly biased.  Thomas, my husband, and I have been together since high school, that's oh.....11 years now and we have been married for 2 although not without some difficulty. Thomas was my brother's friend in HS through scouts, lacrosse, and all three of us were in band together - Thomas played percussion, I played flute, and Jason was a base/alto clarinet player. Oh! July 4th weekend...

First off let me say that I got practically no stitching done over the holiday weekend and I'm okay with that. ^_^ 7-4 work - Red bow and start of blue present Got to spend Friday and Sat with the in-laws and Sunday with my family.  Jason and Sarah brought Emma for the family get together so I was supper excited to finally get to see and hold her.  She was sleeping when they arrived and I got to hold her. She's a cuddle bug! She was completely content to sleep on my chest all curled up. Emma snuggles Not the best picture quality because I was taking the selfie with my phone.  Which is another thing Thomas and I did over the break, get new phones! We both got the Samsung Galaxy s5, his is black and mine is white, and actually the camera takes much better pictures it was just hard for me to do with one hand. lol Isn't she adorable?  I know, I'm slightly biased.  I was also asked to be her Godmother!!
