Stitch From Stash - January

Edit:

Due to recent info from Mel, the creator of SFS, projects that are being done for gifts & are immediately being worked on don't count so....that means that the birth announcement doesn't count towards my budget.  So....$18.04 is my total for this month!  That means I have $6.96 to carry over for next month. ^_^

Here's to hoping I can keep to my budget for next month, which should be good since I have extra money now.

Well....it's the first month of SFS budget and.....I went over by $3.48 :(  I was supposed to stick to a budget of $25/month.

I ordered (and received) the baby birth record and the Christmas stocking kits for my brother Jason and his wife Sarah's first child.  Which we found out this Monday is going to be a baby girl!!!  I'm going to be the proud aunt to a baby girl and my first niece at that!  ^_^  I'm super excited and I know Jason & Sarah are even more excited. First baby in the family on both sides so both set of grandparents are exited as well.

So I put aside my current WIP - the butterfly orchid one, and started on my birth announcement as that one needs to be done first.

So what I spent this month:

Dimensions Baby Express Birth Record:   $10.44
Dimensions Santa's Sidecar Stockings:     $18.04
 -------------------------------------------------
Total:                                                       $28.48

So I think I'll have better luck next month as I don't anticipate buying anything till I get these two projects done.

Progress so far:

So....I've got 1064 stitches done so far in 6 days.  I've taken 3 days off of stitching to do various things; housework, playing computer games w/ hubby, or just not able to focus enough on stitching.  I'm almost done with the blue part of the left most border.  I then have to fill in all the empty squares in the blue with light blue stitches. Not sure which section I'll do next.  Probably the start of the train. I should have the left border done by the end of today and start on the light blue filling stitches.

  1. You only barely missed, next month will be fine. I love that birth record, I still need to find a smaller one for my nephew. I must have something suitable wandering around in my stash.

  2. Get this! Mel says that if a project is a gift and being worked on and finished immediately then that doesn't count towards the budget!! Email her and let her know and she will tell you this great news :D

  3. I never cease to be amazed (and a little envious xD) how very cheap stiching supplies are in the US - or maybe rather, how expensive they are here.
The Birth Express looks like a real fun piece to make, I love colorfull stitchung :D

    1. Yeah....there is that at least. Although I have to order a lot of stuff online since there aren't a lot of stores in the area. I have 1 that specialized in cross-stitching stuff so that's a plus. I'm going to go there and see what I can find for fabric since I'm going to need some for some of my TW freebies.
