July WIPocalypse

Well I think I'm just going to have to come to terms with the fact that I am horrible about doing these blogs on time. :)

Question for this month: It's halfway to Christmas.  Do you start your holdiay stitching this early?  If so, what do you hope to accomplish this year?

Yes, and no.  Normally I don't if only because I never think about it and I'm HORRIBLE with deadlines and never seem to get the projects done by Christmas. When that happens, I end up just giving the WIP to show the project and let the recipient (normally a family member) know that this is what I'm working on and will be given to them when done. It's what I did last year with Joseph's Dragon Wall Hanging. This year however, I'm working on a stocking for Emma and I hope to get a few ornaments done as gifts for various people but I'm not sure if that will happen so I'm not going to stress about it.

7-17 progress
My goal for the stocking is to have the stitching done by Thanksgiving so I can sew it up and have it done in plenty of time for Christmas.

I'm starting to slow down on the stitching though since I've kind of lost my steam which is bad since I have a deadline I have to meet. I still need to look into getting the white beads for the bottom part of the stocking I'm just not 100% sure what I want. Unfortunately there are no stitching related stores near me now and I won't be in Houston till Thanksgiving time so I can't go check them out before my self-imposed deadline which means I'll have to order the beads online if the ones at Hobby Lobby aren't what I am looking for.  This wouldn't be a problem except I would hate to order something and it turn out to be the wrong size/color/etc that I don't like for the project. That's typically why I don't like ordering things online.  I like to see things in person and make sure it's what I want before ordering.  Alas, that is not always an option.

It will all work out in the end though so I just have to trust in the stitching gods. ;)

Ah well, till next time...happy stitching everyone! ^_^

    1. Thanks. I think it's just seems like I'm not doing anything since it seems, to me, that I've been working on the same section for so long.
